Haiti Update
On January 12, 2010 a monumental 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti killing 200,000 people by some government estimates. The devastating quake impacted 3 million lives by leaving them homeless, hungry and more even vulnerable than they were before the worst earthquake to hit Haiti in modern history.
Wellspring United Methodist church has been working in Haiti for more than two years. Teams of people from the congregation have brought much needed medical help, supplies and hope to partner churches in the island nation.
Here is how you can help:
1) Give a tax deductable donation: Make checks out to Wellspring United Methodist Church, with the memo “Haiti Relief.” Donations will go toward providing supplies and ongoing support to our ministry partners in Haiti.
2) Donate Supplies: We are collecting non-perishable food items (preferably dry rice, dry beans and peanut butter), bottled water and medical supplies. Drop off times will be 5pm-7pm daily. Please no clothing!
4) Be a part of our ongoing work in Haiti: Our church has sent two teams to Haiti and is planning on a return trip this November (maybe sooner if the opportunity arises). We provide medical care, food and work on building projects. We need both financial supporters and individuals willing to go to Haiti. For more information contact tylerwellspring@verizon.net.
